Casablanca is an amazing blend of history, culture and amazing natural beauty. It is located in western part of Morocco along the serene Atlantic Ocean. Grand Casablanca region boasts this city as its capital. Casablanca is the largest city of Morocco, even though it is not the capital city of the country.


Casablanca is considered as the breadbasket of Morocco because it is located in the most fertile Chawiya plain. The geographical coordinates for this city are 33°32′N 7°35′W. The area of this city is approximately 324 square kilometers or 125.1 square miles. Whereas the population of this city is 2,949,805. This makes it a fairly large city in terms of population as well as total area.

Casablanca can be considered as the economic capital of Morocco. This is because it is home to the main port of Morocco as well as the major industrial and business facilities of the country. And history has been witness to this fact that Casablanca has always held a prominent position in the economy of this area. That is why it holds a primary position in shaping the history of the region.

Casablanca is located in North Africa. The country has a key strategic location along the Gibraltor strait. It is neighbored by Atlantic ocean on one side. Main cities of the country such as the capital of Morocco Rabat, Mohammedia, El Jadida etc are located close by.

It can be reached through the main airport of Casablanca which is called Mohammad V International Airport.  It is also the busiest airport of the country where most of the national and international air traffic is handled.
